+100 Migrant Workers Deported Following Wildcat Strike →

Over 100 temporary migrant workers were denied wages and rights on the Ghesquire Plants Ltd, in Simcoe Ontario. After staging an unauthorized (“wildcat”) strike, most of the workers have been deported. Chris Ramsaroop is an organizer with Justicia for Migrant Workers. He is based in Toronto.
Because they are illegal ONLY when not happy with serfdom and a peasant lifestyle. Funny how there wasn’t a problem till then!!!

If you are ever in the South and somehow forget where you are, don’t worry, someone will let you know. Case in point, when I was with my friend in Florida, recently. We were at the Taco Bell drive-through and I asked for a chilli-cheese burrito, which was on the menu. The man on the intercom said lazily, “We don’t have that. To be honest, they only have that up North. This is the South, so people like to make thier own chili down here.” He said it with no malice, just a matter of fact.
When she ordered the number-eleven meal, he said, “We don’t have that,” so I said to my friend, “That’s right, this is the South, they only like to count up to nine, here.”
Yeah, and they tend to skip a few #’s on the way too. (I kid because I live in Texas. )

When you start to see past how your looks have changed over time, to how your mind has changed over time, it’s a bit frightening. Things that meant the world no longer mean enough to be mentioned, or given a second thought, let alone a first one. Your interpretation of morality changes; what was wrong is now justified, and what was right is now close-minded. Your once-vision and expectations of the future are now laughable reminders of your innocence, or your ambition. You start to search for meanings and happiness, you have become the cliche you once pretended to be in high school, older and lost in self-importance. And suddenly it all ends, you’re back to societal norms (although you’ve never really left) and hanging up pretentious artwork in the foyer. Gone is the foreign girl and your beard, replaced by the next miserable chapter.

Level 3 Communications, a central partner in the Netflix online movie service, accused Comcast on Monday of charging a new fee that puts Internet video companies at a competitive disadvantage.
Level 3, which helps to deliver Netflix’s streaming movies, said Comcast had effectively erected a tollbooth that “threatens the open Internet,” and indicated that it would seek government intervention…
Net neutrality, which posits that Internet traffic should be free of any interference from network operators like Comcast, is thought to be on the December agenda of the Federal Communications Commission.
…under pressure from Comcast, “Level 3 agreed to the terms, under protest, in order to ensure customers did not experience any disruptions,” Mr. Stortz said…Mr. Stortz implied that Comcast was taking the action to impair companies that compete with its own cable and Internet services.
